How do you perform your magic?

My particular brand of close-up magic works best in two settings. Either “standing”, with guests mingling in a reception setting; or “seated” with everyone sat at a table for a meal or speeches. I can work in a combination of both these settings. There are other possibilities and I would be very happy to discuss these in more detail with you.

How long would I need to book you for?

This really depends on the size of the event you have planned. For most bookings, however, I would recommend a minimum of two hours. This will ensure I perform for all your guests, at least once, and will give me ample time to “work the room”. If you are planning a very large event with over 100 guests it may be necessary to book a second magician. In this situation I would be happy to recommend a number of professional magical colleagues.

Do I need to pay you a deposit?

Yes. Once you decide that you would like to book me I will send through a formal booking confirmation which forms the basis of our contract. This confirmation will include all the relevant details of the proposed booking – which you should check thoroughly. To secure the booking will then require a non-refundable deposit. I accept payment by Cheque, PayPal or BACS transfer. The non-refundable deposit will be credited against the balance outstanding, and this becomes due one week before the booking. I will also send out a final invoice as a payment reminder. In the unfortunate event of a booking cancellation I am unable to offer a refund of any deposit monies.

Do you have insurance for what you do?

Yes. I have substantial public liability insurance of £10Million to cover me for all professional engagements as a close-up magician. If you require a copy of the cover note for your event I would be happy to provide this.

Are you a Member of The Magic Circle?

Yes. I was elected, by unanimous decision of the examiners, to Full Membership of The Magic Circle on my first attempt. The Magic Circle is, without question, the most exclusive private members club in the world and it is an honour to be part of an organisation which dates back to 1905 and counts, among its membership, some of the world’s greatest magicians. To achieve membership is a mark of true performing excellence and indicates that, as a magician, you have achieved a level of recognition from your peers.
